A crisp, surprising white made entirely from Merlot. Hand-harvested grapes are pressed quickly as whole clusters so the juice stays pale while keeping its freshness. The result is crystal-clear and pale yellow, with pear, white flowers and a hint of licorice on the nose, and a light finish with lingering aniseed notes. Bright and festive, it's a natural aperitif and a conversation starter at the table.
Château Jouvente is an 8.7-hectare family property in Illats, in the heart of the Graves appellation. The vineyard is farmed sustainably, with HVE level 3 certification, a biocontrol program instead of conventional treatments, and grapes sorted by hand right on the vine. The estate's wines have won the Graves appellation trophy several times and are poured at gastronomic and Michelin-starred restaurants.
