Named after our middle son, the grapes for the Cuvee Nolan blend are grown in a high elevation vineyard in Eastern Santa Barbara County. The Cuyama Valley lies at the base of Los Padres National Forest and is a fairly remote location. The vineyard is planted to many varietals, each benefittingfrom the warm, sunny days and cold nights. Experiencing daily temperature swings up to 50* F, the region is ideally suited for Bordeaux grapes. The wine was aged over 24 months in barrels with 30% new oak. This special barrel selection yielded 270 cases of wine.

Bouquet Complex bouquet of forest blackberries, cassis, boxwood and unsmoked tobacco, as well as plenty of palate-pleasing flavor.
Flavour Much softer than other vintages, the wine is nicely layered. Fruit flavors lean towards raspberries on the front palate and finish with dark plums and a smooth finish.
Pairings Sophisticated and complex Bordeaux-style wine, Kuyam Cuvee Nolan pairs especially well with poultry, pork, and prime cuts of beef. Thin slices of rare beef tenderloin and portabello mushrooms; marinated pork tenderloin grilled to perfection and served with caramelized onions; or roast chicken, stuffed with a savory wild rice all make splendid accompaniments to this wine.
